Once Again America Is Being Led to War, On Lies

Thirty-three (33) years ago, Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, insisted Iran was very close to making a nuclear bomb. Since then, Iran has not had, or been close to making a nuclear bomb. But that has not deterred Benjamin Netanyahu from insisting every year that Iran is ‘very close, days, maybe weeks’ away from making nuclear bombs, ‘dozens’ or maybe more!! For decades, Benjamin Netanyahu has looked into television cameras, addressed the UN Assembly, and addressed the US Congress, straight faced, and lied about Iran’s nuclear programs and aims, simple to retain prime minister-ship of Israel.

During all these years, Israel’s Intelligence Agency, ‘Mossad’, and the USA’s Central Intelligence Agency, ‘CIA’, have both said, repeatedly, that to their knowledge, Iran was never close to having a nuclear bomb, and was not planning to make one now.

In March of this year (2025), US’s National Intelligence Director, Tulsi Gabbard, a Trump appointee, testified before a Congressional Hearing, that US Intelligence did not believe that Iran was working on making a nuclear bomb, or was close to being able to make one.

But Trump, when questioned by reporters about his Intelligence Director’s testimony, responded by saying, ‘I don’t care what she said!! I believe it is close to having one’.

Which means, that Trump is rejecting his own country’s latest intelligence assessment, and is willing to back, against all evidence, Netanyahu’s three decades of proven lies.

As to why - Trump is so desperate to have, definitive, big, bold, legacy accomplishments while in power. So, Israel’s proven military-might, and deadly effectiveness, gives him a big possible win.

He wants to be able to claim that he de-capitated Iran’s antagonistic and hated theocratic regime, and brought a more moderate, Western friendly Iranian government to Iran, when all his predecessors had tried and failed for decades.

For that kind of global-headlines grabbing achievement (like Barack Obama got when Osama Bin-Laden was found and killed), Trump is willing to risk a lot – the outright rejection of Tulsi Gabbard’s truth about Iran not having any ambitions towards a nuclear bomb, is a very small price to pay. As a matter of fact, Trump’s claims to be a ‘peacemaker’ is also a small sacrifice to shed, compared to becoming a war hero and a history maker. As for the fact that Netanyahu, his partner in crime, is also a pathological liar, is definitively familiar ground, and Trump’s very own comfort zone. Trump is certainly not bothered by promoting lies, or acting on lies, he has done it all his life to great success.

Just like the lies of ‘weapons of mass destruction’, that Netanyahu had also pushed, which had led America into an unjustifiable, illegal, and destructive war, and regime change in Iraq, Iran’s imaginary ‘nuclear bomb’, is also a blatant lie, consistently pushed by Netanyahu and his Israeli government, that is leading Trump and now America, willingly, into war; and to the destruction of yet another country, and the slaughter of tens, if not hundreds of thousands of innocent people. Even if the US does not get directly involved, it is already fully complicit as it has been supplying Israel with Billions of dollars, and the latest most advanced offensive and defensive weapons which gives Israel far greater military superiority than its adversary Iran.

Iran, which has already suffered for decades from America’s and it’s western allies’ harshest economic sanctions, and from frequent Israeli ‘pre-emptive’ air and covert strikes to destroy important infrastructure and assassination of its top military, scientific and civilian leadership and talent, is now weakened, and targeted for full-on war and regime change, just as Iraq and its regime had been targeted and destroyed.

Iran’s retaliatory actions are not acknowledged as defensive, but framed in the context of its ‘nuclear enrichment program’, and its rejected nuclear containment ‘Agreement’ with the US, which has been made into a joke by Trump (encouraged by Netanyahu), who never had any intention of having a diplomatic solution to Iran’s nuclear program, and that is why he had torn up Obama’s very commendable Agreement, ratified by five other countries, which Iran had honoured consistently. This time while Iran was asked to negotiate a new Agreement, and was in negotiation with Trump’s administration, Israel was given the green light to attack Iran, and scuttle the negotiations. It is classic bad-faith mistreatment of Iran by the US and Israel.

Any direct action by Iran or any other Arab Country, or through proxies, to retaliate or defend themselves from Israel’s frequent illegal incursions into sovereign territories to assassinate leadership, or to destroy assets, or from US led wars and regime changes, is deemed ‘terrorism’ and therefore open to more attacks, destruction, and vilification.

Only Israel is pure in all its actions and intentions, is the assumption behind the West’s decades long unconditional support (as is being demonstrated again with Israel’s Western Allies talking about Israel’s right to defend itself, but not Iran’s rights to defend itself when attacked).

The maddening aspect of all this is – the United Nations deems most of Israel’s actions as ‘illegal under International Law’, but its 100s of admonishments and its innumerable ‘Resolutions’ condemning Israel, have been just purely useless rhetoric and wasted paper, as the US vetoes all possible UN calls for action to punish Israel, or make it stop.

The claim that Iran is the terrorist and destabilizing power in the region is sheer vilifying propaganda to justify the decades-long systematic weakening of Iran.

Israel, has been hyper sensitive to its security since its formation in 1948, after the collective Jewish experience of WWII, and the Holocaust. That is perfectly understandable.

But, after the Six-Day-War in 1967 with its predominantly Arab populated neighbouring countries, who had objected to the Jewish Zionist State takeover of Palestinian lands, in which war Israel defeated the Arab States, Israel has not faced any credible threat from any of its neighbours. That is not to say that it did not have sporadic attacks against it, but its neighbours were, in the whole, thoroughly chastened by their defeat in the Six-Day-War, and had lost some territory, which Israel kept; and after every attack Israel hit back harder and damaged considerably more, till, except for increasingly infrequent lone attacks, at times perpetrated by desperate and frustrated individuals, State sponsored attacks became a thing of the past.

Also, after that war, Israel has gotten exponentially stronger in every way with direct, unconditional, economic and military help primarily from the United States, and the rest of the Western Powers. Which means that Israel has had the direct and unconditional help of the most powerful economies and military powers in the world, for more than seven decades. Which has resulted in Israel being the single most powerful country in the Middle East, guaranteed by the fact that it still has the unconditional backing military and financial of the US and the West.

During the same time, some of the most important Middle Eastern and the North African Countries that had showed any aggression or defiance towards Israel and its patron the US, were systematically dismantled and regime changed – Lebanon, Libya, Iraq, Syria - and others like Jordan and Egypt were cowed in to submission. Countries (Principalities) like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman etc. made their peace with the West and Israel and were left alone.

Iran, historically and currently, is one of the largest and most important civilizations in the World, and it has refused to kowtow to either the US (who tried for decades to bring it to its knees), or to Israel, who got stronger and bolder and carried out numerous military strikes deep within Iran in the name of ‘pre-emptive defensive-strikes’.

Israel is the only country in the World which has been allowed to do so, carry out pre-emptive strikes against sovereign nations, consistently, over decades, to eliminate any perceived threats, be they human, scientific, or military assets, it considered potentially dangerous for its security.

In this, Israel’s most recent attack, it has pre-emptively struck and destroyed most of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, some of their key military infrastructure, and assassinated some of its top scientific, military and civilian leadership.

And all the civilian casualties are simply ‘collateral damage’.

Now, all pretence at defensive moves, by Israel, have been discarded for open aggression against Iran with military strikes and threats of invasion, to destroy it, and decapitate its entire civilian and military leadership and command, so that Israel can have complete hegemony in the Middle East, with no credible opposition to its treatment of the Palestinians, or its expansionist plans over Gaza, West Bank, parts of Syria and Lebanon.

For the full security of Israel, numerous neighbouring, and regional countries have been reduced to ‘failed States’ or rubble, or both. But will all this destruction and mass casualties of civilians really provide the complete security Netanyahu and Israel seek. It is highly doubtful. For every person and family killed randomly in an act of war, defensive or not, for every country destroyed in the name of ‘dictatorship’ or ‘bad actor’, there will be tens of thousands of survivors with a deep-rooted hatred and resentment of Israel and its people.

It is not reasonable to expect to damage and destroy entire countries and cultures, and people, without any blowback from those whose lives have been completely destroyed because of the wishes, wants, and needs of a single nation, or inter-regional politics and powerplays.

But it’s a gamble that Israel and the US are obviously willing to take, and are willing to double down on, with this lies-based war with Iran.
